TO THE LARSEN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Larsen County Sheriff’s Department was formed in 1911, 21 years after the state of Wyoming itself was founded. Larsen County is a small ranching community of about 5,000 residents that sits in the shadows of the Tetons. We are a tourist destination for year-round outdoor activities.

ABOUT THE AREA

Larsen County sits beautifully at the base of 10,536 foot Rendezvous Peak. For skiers, it’s the largest vertical rise in America – 4,139 feet. The county is identified by its 100-foot tall clock tower at the Val- ley Station of the two and one-half mile, 63-passenger aerial tram. It is one of America’s most scenic and popular four-season recreation areas. In summer, Larsen County is a favorite jumping-off spot for Jackson Hole vacation trips. Larsen County facilities include swimming pools, restaurants, shops, cafeteria, ski school, hotels & motels, condominiums, service station and various other shops. Hunting trips and float trips can be arranged at the area. There is horseback riding and hiking at the area also, with golf and other activities available within minutes driving time. Tramway summer sightseeing trips are available. The summer season extends from Memorial Day to September, and the winter season from mid-December to early April.
